As per your concern I will tell you eligibility criteria for admission in PHIL program conducted by Kuvempu University of Karnataka so that you can remember easily. Here is the eligibility criteria A Candidate who has passed a Post-Graduate Degree Examination of Kuvempu University or of any other University recognized by the U.G.C. securing not less than 55% of the marks in aggregate or equivalent thereto at Post-Graduate Degree Examination. Course in respect foreign students and sponsored candidates shall be considered and determined by the Department M.Phil. In respect of permanent teachers with FIVE years of teaching experience or those on F.I.P. and also the candidates belonging to SC/ST / Category-I, the minimum percentage of marks for taking the entrance test shall be 50% in aggregate, at the Post-Graduate Degree level in the concerned subject. Entrance test: There shall be an Entrance Test for M.Phil. course conducted by the University every year in the month of Sept./Oct. A sum of 50% weightage marks shall be given to performance in the entrance test and 50% weightage to the marks secured at the qualifying examination as specified 3.1(a), (b) and (c) above. The foreign students and the sponsored candidates are exempted from appearing the Entrance Test. The intake shall be a maximum of two candidates per eligible supervisor in the regular mode and two candidates in the Distance mode (2+2=4). The number fixed for the two types zones cannot be inter changeable. In case of the Correspondence Course mode, the candidates shall apply with all relevant documents to the Director of Distance Education The M.Phil courses will of TWO types : 1. Regular 2. Distance mode Examination and evaluation procedure: Each paper shall carry a maximum of 100 marks (that is, 100x3=300) and there shall be three papers for 300 marks for the entire course work. In each paper, 50 marks shall be for the written examination referred at PART-B and 50 marks for Internal Assessment. The dissertation shall be valued for 250 marks and the Viva-Voce shall be for 50 marks. Thus, a total of 600 maximum marks are earmarked considered for the entire course, as shown below. The following shall be the pattern of marks allotment: i. COURSE WORK : Written Examination IA a) Research Methodology 50 50 b) Area of Specialization 50 50 c) Subject pertaining to Research and Dissertation 50 50 ii. DISSERTATION 250 iii.
