Hi I am interested in having the information about the Mahatma Gandhi University Employees Association as well as some of the landmarks achieved?

Mahatma Gandhi University Employees Association was some time ago propelled on 30th November 1983 with only 40 individuals under the initiative of Com. T. K. Kuriakose (Founder President) and Com. K. J. Joseph (General Secretary).

The Association, being a dynamic majority rule association, has dependably maintained the cause and vision of the University notwithstanding when battling to protect the interests and welfare of the University representatives.

No big surprise, Mahatma Gandhi University Employees Association is the biggest administration association in the University with more than 70% of the representatives being its glad individuals.

Points of interest Achieved by the Association:

Statutory Finance Committee

The decision of Sri.K.Sherafudeen, Senate Member to the Statutory Finance advisory group of the M. G. College is the first of its kind in the historical backdrop of administration associations of Universities in Kerala. This uncovers the acknowledgment of Association among the scholarly group.

Real Agitations

The fomentations must be propelled from the earliest starting point itself. Affiliations needed to turn to fomentations taking after the moving of University office from Kottayam town to Athirampuzha, a sluggish remote villa where essential luxuries were poor and method of transport for all intents and purposes nil. In the wake of the fomentations, powers were compelled to authorize Campus Allowance as remuneration till essential courtesies were progressed.

Lifting of Restrictions on Promotions

Another great accomplishment in the historical backdrop of the M. G. University Employees Association was the lifting of an undemocratic procurement incorporated into the M.G. College Act which demanded earlier endorsement from the Government for all advancements to the post of Section Officers and officers running from ARs to JRs. Taking after the fomentation the LDF Government under the authority of Com. E. K. Nayanar dissolved the same in 1988.
