The University of Mysore was set up on 27th July, 1916 amid the generous rule of the Maharaja of Mysore. The beginning of the University of Mysore stems from a five year long inside and out perusing and examination on advanced education over the globe. The University has 42 Postgraduate Departments at the Main Campus, Manasagangotri, 2 Postgraduate Centers, viz., Tubinakere, Mandya, Hemagangotri, Hassan with 5 Postgraduate Departments each and one Satellite Center at Chamarajanagar with 3 Postgraduate Departments.
