You can earn both an MBA and a Master of Science in Engineering through a special accelerated dual-degree program offered by the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering at San Jose State University MBA-MS Software Engineering program The MBA/MSE dual-degree program is delivered via a cohort model that is specially designed for working professionals. Classes and program schedule are predetermined, so all students start and graduate at the same time, catering to the interests and lifestyles of busy professionals in Silicon Valley. All courses are offered in Silicon Valley near high-tech employers. Class schedules are designed for working professionals who want to earn advanced degrees through accelerated programs. Required Courses/Units: 18 courses/52 units including 16 lecture courses and 2 thesis project courses (final courses) Time commitment per course: 8 weekly evening sessions (6:00 – 9:30pm) 2 Saturday sessions (9:00am – 3:30pm) Total time commitment: 34 – 36 months Requirements- Academic Degree An applicant must have a degree equivalent to a four-year U.S. baccalaureate degree in the related field of engineering or other related fields. TOEFL An applicant without a US baccalaureate degree must pass the TOEFL exam with a score of at least 550 paper based, 213 computer based, or 80 for the Internet-based test. GRE or GMAT (For Dual Degree Programs Only) Programs are now accepting a combined GMAT score of 550 or higher and also a score at the 50th percentile or higher in both the quantitative and verbal sections or a GRE scores of 151 in verbal reasoning and 152 in quantitative reasoning. GPA B (3.0) or better. Conditional admissions might be granted for applicants with exceptional background and GPA less than 3.0 but greater than 2.5. Reference Letters (For Dual Degree Programs Only) Academic and professional references are required. Admission Priority The program admits the most qualified applicants to fill its available space. In other words, an applicant that meets all admission requirements might be denied due to insufficient space.
