The University of IOWA is having various dual degree programs. The MD/MBA combined degree is a five-year program. Typically, students begin MBA courses after their 3rd year of medical studies.

It may be possible to join the MBA after your 2nd year of MD, but is advisable to take Step 2 exams at the end of your 3rd year and then join.

Candidates are invited for MD/MBA there is not required to take the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or GRE provided that they have previously taken the MCAT and are admitted to the University Of Iowa Carver College Of Medicine.

Graduation Requirements

Tippie College of Business – 45 hours plus 15 hours awarded for MD work = 60 semester hours required for the MBA
