ME Entrance Exams
Can you please provide me detail regarding ME admission through Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET)?? Tamilnadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted every year for the admission to MBA, MCA, M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch / M.Plan degree programmes offered in colleges in Tamilnadu (TANCET) examination is conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Govt of Tamil Nadu. TANCET ME examination will be of 2 Hours. Exam will consist of: Part-I and Part-II are compulsory Part-III (Optional) PART I: Engineering Mathematics PART – II: Basic Engineering & Sciences PART – III Civil engineering & geo informatics Mechanical, automobile & aeronautical engineering Electrical & electronics engineering Instrumentation engineering Electronics and communication engineering Production and industrial engineering Computer science & engineering Information technology Chemical engineering, ceramic technology Biotechnology Leather technology Eligibility: You must hold bachelor degree (B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree) or B.Pharm / B.Sc. (Agriculture/Forestry/Horticulture/Fishery) degree Or Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts Important Dates Commencement of registration: 06th February, 2013 Last date for registration: 26th February, 2013 Last date for registration in person at Chennai centre and receipt of applications registered through internet: 28th February, 2013 Date of entrance test M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan: 07th April, 2013, Sunday, Timing: 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon Syllabus of PART-I(Common for all candidates): Engineering mathematics: i) Determinants and Matrices : Solving system of equations – Rank of the Matrix – Eigenvalues and eigenvectors – Reduction of quadratic form to canonical form. ii) Calculus and Differential Equations : Partial derivatives – Jacobians – Taylor’s expansion – Maxima and Minima. Linear ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients – Simultaneous first order linear equations with constant coefficients. Formation of partial differential equation (PDE) – Solution of first order PDE – Solution of linear higher order PDE with constant coefficients. iii) Vector Calculus : Double and triple integrations and their applications – Gradient, Divergence, Curl and Laplacian – Green’s, Gauss divergence and Stroke’s theorem. iv) Functions of Complex Variables and Complex Integration : Analytic functions – Conformal Mapping – Bilinear transformation – Cauchy’s integral theorem and integral formula – Taylor and Laurent Series –Singularities – Residues – Residue theorem and its applications. v) Transforms : Laplace Transform – Inverse transforms – Application to solution of linear ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients. Fourier integral theorem – Fourier transform pair – Sine and Cosine transforms. -transform – Inverse Z–transform – Solution of difference equations using Z– transform. vi) Numerical Methods : Solution of linear system by direct and iterative methods – Interpolation and approximation – Numerical Differentiation and Integration – Solving Ordinary Differential Equations. vii) Applied Probability : Probability and Random variables – Standard Discrete and Continuous distribution – Moments – Moment generating function and their properties.
