MFE Course

I want to do Master of Financial Engineering degree course in Haas School of Business so can you please tell me the degree requirements of this course?

The Walter A. Haas School of Business is one of 14 schools and colleges at the University of California, Berkeley. It was established in 1898.

MFE Program


The Berkeley MFE Program is a one-year program beginning in March, with an internship period from October to January, and graduation the following March.

Degree Requirements

MFE students must successfully complete 28 units of coursework (1 unit = 15 class hours), including the Morgan Stanley Applied Finance Project, plus an internship or on-site project.

The 10- to 12-week internship project is a required condition for graduation.

The degree is awarded to MFE students who have maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) and completed:

New Student Orientation (required)
Required courses (16 units)
Elective courses (9-11 units)
The Morgan Stanley Applied Finance Project (3 units; required)
Internship (10-12 weeks; required)
A total of 28 units of coursework (1 unit = 15 class hours)
