Military Engineering Services (MES) Procedure
What is the procedure to join Military Engineering Services (MES)???? Combined Engineering Services Examination/ Military Engineering Services Examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for recruitment of engineers to the four categories of Engineering Services: Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Eligibility requirements: Qualification and experience: Civil: -Must be degree holders in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or they must be three-year diploma holders in civil engineering from a recognized university or institution or board -Should also possess two years experience in planning, execution and maintenance of civil engineering works. Electrical/Mechanical: -Candidates must be degree holders in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university or they must be three-year diploma holders in Electrical/Mechanical engineering from a recognized university or institution or board -Candidates should also possess two years experience in planning, execution and maintenance of mechanical engineering works. QS & C: -Candidates must possess three-year diploma in civil engineering from a recognized board/university or institution or equivalent qualification or they must have passed their intermediate examination in building and quantity surveying Sub division II of the Institute of Surveyors. Age: -To apply for the position of Junior Engineer, candidates must not be more than 30 years of age, while for QS & C alone candidates must be between the age group of 18 and 27 years. - Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates, three year for OBC candidates Selection Procedure: Candidates will be shortlisted for interview to the position of Junior Engineer in MES on the basis of their performance in written examination to be conducted by SSC.
