MBA/Master of Legal Studies The MBA/Master of Legal Studies (MBA/MLS) program is offered through a cooperative arrangement between the faculties of the W. P. Carey School of Business and the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. The dual degree will allow you to work in areas where business and law intersect A total of 63 hours are required for completion of the MBA/MLS dual degree Requirements- Master of Legal Studies Requirements: M.L.S. students must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours plus 6 shared MBA credit hours, totaling 30 credits. During the first three semesters, students will take only business classes. During the fourth semester, students will take primarily business classes plus two law classes totaling 6 credits. Evening students will take one law course during the summer, and for both day and evening students, the final semester will comprise only law courses. US Law and Legal Anaylsis, 3 credits Fundamentals of Contract Law, 3 credits Legal Principles of Business Organizations, 3 credits Human Resources Law, 3 credits Administrative Agencies and Regulations, 3 credits Managing Disputes: Litigation Strategies and Alternative Dispute Resolution, 3 credits Tax Theory and Principles, 3 credits Integrating Legal Principles & Business Practice, 3 credits Master of Business Administration Requirements: MBA students must complete a minimum of 39 credit hours plus 6 shared M.L.S. credit hours, totaling 30 credits. During the first three semesters, students will take only business classes. During the fouth semester, students will take primarily business classes plus two law classes (U.S. Law and Legal Analysis and Fundamentals of Contract Law, totaling 6 credits). They will take one law course during the summer, and the final semester will comprise only law courses.
