Yes Basic Training Centre of ITB Police that was set up at Karera, Shivpuri (MP) in 1962 has been shifted to Distt. Kullu (HP) in 1977 and to its present location, Bhanu, in District Panchkula (Haryana) in the month of June 1991.

Basic Training Centre of ITB Police chisels and shapes new entrants at the levels of Constables and Head Constables and turns them into a combat soldier capable of performing border management tasks as well multidimensional tasks like Counter Insurgency Operations and Internal Security.


Basic Training Centre of ITB Police has specialized in the training of 'Instructors' in Drill, Weapons, PT and Judo and therefore also attracts trainees from State and Central Police Forces. Basic Training Centre of ITB Police also conducts in-service training of section level commanders,besides having a separate wing for training of dogs and horses and its handlers and riders.
