Re: Mr. MDU. Shabane

South Africans have motivation to be pleased with their accomplishments in the course of recent years. Dating from the decision in April 1994, in which our nation picked vote based system as its identification and a rainbow as its image, our kin have put aside their past divisions and wholeheartedly grasped each other, joined in a common vision for national advance on an inexorably focused global stage. Strikingly, the nation has figured out how to accomplish and manage amazing financial development.

Through focused government programs, the accompanying turning points have been accomplished:

 Poverty has been significantly reduced in terms of income, access to social services and assets;
 Over 12 million people have benefited from government’s social security assistance programme;
 The number of people with access to electricity and water services has dramatically increased;
 More than three million South Africans have been assisted through housing subsidies;
 Almost 10 million South Africans now have a place they can call home; and
 More than half of all households are headed by women.

There are, in any case, some noteworthy difficulties as yet confronting the nation. Advance in urban zones unmistakable difference a glaring difference to the regularly extraordinary levels of neediness numerous South Africans in provincial regions still persevere. Social hardship and underdevelopment keeps on frequenting an excessive number of country regions.

For about a large portion of a century, the coldhearted politically-sanctioned racial segregation administration saw the tenants of dark provincial ranges basically as work stores, unworthy of improvement endeavors, though the post 1994 advancement worldview was commenced on the presumption that urban improvement would definitely course to the rustic outskirts.

The Minister for Rural Development and Land Reform, Mr Gugile Nkwinti has respected Cabinet's endorsement of Mr Mdu Shabane's arrangement as the Director-General for the Department, powerful from 1November 2010.

Mr Shabane, who has been with the division for over 10 years, studied land residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in United State of America (USA), trailed by a course in Land Management with the University of KwaZulu-Natal Durban. Among different capabilities he holds a National Diploma in Public Management from the then Technikon Natal. As a land extremist he conveys to the position an abundance of involvement in land and agrarian change in both the general population part and also non-legislative.
