Middle Tennessee State University MTSU's Computer Science Department offers a Bachelor of Science degree with two options, the professional concentration program, accredited by the computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, and the business applications concentration (not accredited).

These programs include a common core of 30 computer science hours plus 15 mathematics hours.

There are over 300 undergraduate majors.

A major in Computer Science consists of 41 hours of General Education requirements, 44 hours of Computer Science requirements, and 35 hours of supporting and elective courses.

Specifically a major must have

A core of CSCI 1010, CSCI 1170, CSCI 2170, CSCI 3080, CSCI 3110, CSCI 3130, CSCI 3240, and CSCI 4700;

A mathematics core of MATH 1910, MATH 1920, and MATH 2050;

Additional math courses (3 hours) that can be counted toward a math major;

COMM 2200;

PHIL 3170;

Additional courses as described below.

Curriculum: Business Applications Concentration (Business Administration Minor)

Curricular listings include General Education requirements in Communication, History, Humanities and/or Fine Arts, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social/Behavioral Sciences categories.

Freshman

CSCI 2170 - Computer Science II 4 credit hours
