The University of Mumbai (prior known as University of Bombay) is one of the most established and head Universities in India. Set up on 18th July, 1857, it is one among the first three universities in India, other being Calcutta and Madras Universities.

The university began its correspondence instruction on 24th March 1971. It was known as "Directorate of Correspondence Programs." In the year 1985 it was redesigned as "Directorate of Distance Education" which was further in 1993, redesigned as "Institute of Distance Education" (IDE). In the scholastic year 2008-09 "The Institute of Distance Learning" is currently named as "Institute of Distance and Open Learning" (IDOL).

Since its origin IDOL has been giving high need to human asset advancement by presenting different conventional Degree Programs and in addition Technical and Proficient Programs through separation mode.

All Programs offered by the Institute are endorsed by Distance Education Bureau, UGC, New Delhi.

Documents for Admission of All Programmes

1. Aspirants are requested to scan their passport size photograph, signature, Mark sheet of qualifying exam (convocation certificates if applicable to course) and other documents as per requirements of the online admission process.

2. The aspirant from other college affiliated to University of Mumbai who is transferring his/her admission t o IDOL is required to scan & upload original No Objection Certificate (NOC) of current academic year from the concerned University and submit along with Xerox copy.

3. Work Experience Certificate of two years for admission into PGDORM only
