The Department of Microbiology of Mysore University was established in 1992.

Department has been receiving financial assistance under DST-FIST programme to strengthen post graduate teaching and research.

Department has a faculty strength of one professor, two associate professors and two assistant professors.

Ph.D
Eligibility - M.Sc.

P.G Diploma In Food Quality & Safety
Duration - 1 year
Eligibility - Masters Degree in Botany/ Applied Botany/ Biotechnology/ Microbiology/ Biochemistry/ Plant Science/ Agriculture/ Sericulture/ Food and Nutrition/ Bioscience/ Life Science with at least 45% marks are eligible to apply
