The Nainital Bank was founded in 1992.

The Bank was established by Bharat Ratna Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant.

It is a scheduled commercial bank.

The bank is a subsidiary of Bank of Baroda, the second largest bank in India.

It has 133 branches in Rajasthan, Delhi and Haryana.

At present Bank of Baroda holds 98.57% share holding in the Nainital Bank Limited and remaining 1.43% shares are held by the public.

The total business of the Bank was Rs. 8,050 crore as on 31st March, 2016.

Net NPA as percentage to Net Advances is at 1.05%.
