The National Institute of Technology Patna, formerly Bihar School of Engineering and Bihar College of Engineering, is a public engineering institution located in Patna in the Indian state of Bihar.

PHD Admission:

National Institute of Technology Patna offers Ph.D. programmes in 10 different specializations. For NIT Patna Ph.D. admissions, the basic requirement is a GATE or NET score.

NIT Patna Ph.D. Eligibility Criteria

Masters degree or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline with at least 6.5 CGPA or 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized institute or university.

B. Tech/ B.E./ B. Arch or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline with at least 8.5 CGPA or 80 percent marks in aggregate from a recognized university.

A valid GATE/ NET/ JAM/ JEST score is mandatory.

One must have cleared the qualifying exam in a single attempt.

Relaxation of 5% will be provided to candidates belonging to the SC/ ST/PwD categories.
The sponsored candidates will be exempted from GATE/ NET qualification.

To be eligible for UGC NET the candidate must be:

A Master’s Degree holder with a minimum aggregate of 55%
Younger than 28 years of age to apply for the junior research fellowship.
There is no upper age limit to apply for Assistant Professorship.
