The National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. is a voluntary health certifying board created in 1960 to evaluate the professional competence of respiratory therapists and pulmonary function technologists. There are two established cut scores for the Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination. Candidates may become eligible to take the Clinical Simulation Examination by achieving the higher cut score on the Therapist Multiple-Choice Examination.
