IIT Bombay is situated at Powai, which is an eastern suburb in the North-Eastern piece of Mumbai.

Mumbai is as a long tight island, very nearly a landmass, pushing south wards into the Arabian Sea. It can be comprehensively isolated into four zones.

South Bombay (Colaba, CST,Fort, Chruchgate, Nariman Point and so forth.)

Focal Bombay (Dadar, Bombay Central, Worli and so forth)

The Western rural areas (Bandra, Juhu, Andheri, Borivali and so forth)

The Eastern Suburbs(Kurla, Chembur, Ghatkopar, Mulund, Kanjur Marg, Vikhroli and so forth.)

Those stopping by Central Railway Suburban train will need to get down at Kanjur Marg, Vikhroli or Ghatkopar which are the closest stations from IITB. In the event that you are dropping by the Western Railway Suburban train you will need to get down at Andheri, Bandra, Goregaon or Malad.

Airplane terminals

Global flights land at Terminal 2, Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport (Sahar Airport), which is around 10 kms from IIT Bombay.
