The NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is the national level entrance exam conducted for the admissions to the different under graduate medical courses including MBBS and BDS courses. The exam is organized every year by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) for all the eligible applicants. The entrance exam is held for the admission of candidates in the 353 Medical Colleges and 297 different Dental Colleges located all over India. Eligibility Criteria for NEET Applicants excluding SC/ST/other backward classes are required to secure at least 50% marks in qualifying exam along with subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology. For SC/ST/Other backward classes applicants the minimum secured marks is 40%. Selection Process The selections of the applicants will be done on the basis of their merits obtained in the entrance exam. A separate merit list will be made for the candidates seeking all India Quota (15%), State Quota and NRI Quota respectively. Pattern of NEET: The exam of the medical entrance exam is based on an objective type question paper based on the questions on the following: Physics Chemistry Biology Total Marks Assigned: 720 Marks (4 Marks each) Total Questions: 180 The candidates will be penalized for every wrong attempt in the form of 1 marks deduction Duration of Exam: three hrs Application Fees Unreserved Categories: Rs.1000 Reserved Categories: Rs.550 Important Date for NEET UG 2016 Online Registration for NEET UG 2016 will begin: December 2015 Last Date to Submit Application Form: December 2015 Last Date to submit application form with late fee: January 2016 |
