Re: Department Of Agroecology Science And Technology Aarhus University

The Department of Agroecology of Aarhus University carries out research in agroecology, that is to say the interaction between plants, animals, humans and the environment within agroecosystems for the production of food, feed, energy and biobased products.

They contribute to sustainable production and growth via excellent research, advice and teaching.

Agroecology is a branch of science that deals with the interactions between soils, plants, animals, humans and the environment within ecological systems created for the production of food.

PhD Agroecology

A PhD education at Agroecology gives access to e.g., state-of-the-art laboratories, GIS-laboratories, greenhouses, the largest semifield and lysimeter facilities in Europe, and 1,300 hectares of farmland for experiments.

Their aim is to train and promote the next generation of researchers, scholars, and technology developers within soil and environmental sciences and technology at the highest scientific level in a truly inter-disciplinary and international atmosphere.

The programme embraces research education within the fields of:

A PhD plan contains:

A specific scientific plan

A course programme (during the first part of your PhD education you will usually have to follow courses corresponding to at least 30 ECTS)

Mobility plans (The Graduate School strongly encourages a longer stay with other active research institutions)

Communication experiences (teaching science in general, publishing and presenting own scientific work)

PhD application deadlines

There are four yearly PhD application deadlines.

The deadlines are the same for both applications on open calls and specific projects:
