I have completed my M.Com degree and heard that National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) invites application for Administrative Officer (AO) Posts. Will you tell me can I check the AO recruitment notification from NICL portal and tell me eligibility for this?

The selection process for NICL AO (National Insurance Company Limited Administrative Officer) consists of online tests (Preliminary & Main Examination) a descriptive test (qualifying in nature) and Interview.


NICL AO Eligibility Criteria

One must be minimum 21 years and maximum 30 years of age to apply

Educational Qualification

One must possess the minimum qualification of a Graduate/Post Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification recognized as such by Central Government with at least 60% marks in either of the degree examination (at least 55% for SC/ST).


NICL AO Exam Pattern

Phase I: Preliminary Examination:

The Preliminary Examination (Online Objective Test) for 100 marks is of one-hour duration and consists of 3 sections as follows:

The questions in objective tests, except for the test of English Language, are available in English & Hindi. One will have to qualify in each test by securing passing marks to be decided by the Organisation.


Phase II: Main Examination:

Main Examination consists of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 30 Marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests are online.

One has to answer Descriptive Test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of the Objective Test, Descriptive Test is administered.

The Objective Test of 2 hours duration consists of 5 sections for total 200 Marks

Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both Preliminary and Main Objective examination)

For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by one, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question are deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score.

No marks are deducted for un-attempted questions.

The Descriptive Test of 30 Minutes duration with 30 marks is a Test of English Language (Essay, Precis, and Comprehension).

The descriptive test is conducted in an online mode and there are separate cut-off marks for the Descriptive Test.


Phase III: Interview

One shortlisted based on online PhaseII (mains exam) is subsequently called for an Interview that is conducted by the Company.

The interview is conducted at select centres.
