The National Identity Card issued to a citizen shall be valid for fifteen years from the date of its issuance

If you want to clear some error then you have to fill a form and submit it to the Election Commission

Upon receiving an application the Election Commission shall, within a prescribed time and in the prescribed manner, issue a fresh National Identity Card to such citizen.
