Yes Buddy, National Institute of Design (NID) is an Organiser of MSMEs Design Clinic Scheme (DCS)

As part of the Design Clinic Scheme (DCS) supported by NID and Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) organized a Design Awareness Seminar on 13 March 2012 at IMTMA, Technology Centre, Bangalore

The Design Clinic Scheme is focused at bringing the industry sector and design expertise to a common platform and provide expert advice and solutions on real time design problems, resulting in continuous improvement and value addition for existing products.

The programme was held with an objective of enhancing the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry.

With the help of design intervention at various functional levels, the programme was structured to provide design related help through 3 levels –

-Design awareness seminar,

-Design need assessment survey of clusters/industry and

-Design projects.

The design requirements of the MSME unit could be availed for

-new product or process design/redesign,

-converting innovations into tangible products,

-value addition of manufactured products for new markets, etc.
