GENERAL ABILITY TEST (GAT):
NIFT 2014 Syllabus for General Ability Test (GAT) (B. Des and M. Des) programs will consist of 5 sections:

1) Quantitative Ability: The paper will have questions of Addition, Multiplication, division, Fractions, Percentage, Rate of Interest, Work and Task, Ratio and Proportion, and Distance.

2) Communication Ability: The paper will have questions based on synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one word substitutes, idioms and phrases, correct spellings, etc.

3) English Comprehension: This paper is to test candidates’ ability to comprehend a situation from a given passage.

4) Analytical Ability: This test is designed to measure candidates’ inference and logic from the given information.

5) General Knowledge and Current Affairs: This test is designed to test candidates’ knowledge about GK and current affairs.

CREATIVE ABILITY TEST (CAT):
Intuition skill, power of observation, innovation in development of a concept and design ability.
