Re: NIHR Biomedical Research Centre for Mental Health

The NIHR Biomedical Research Unit for Dementia (BRU) unites researchers and clinicians from various orders to recognize better approaches to analyze, counteract and treat dementia. We need to accelerate the time it takes to show signs of improvement analytic apparatuses, medications and care from the research center into the NHS, to profit patients and carers.

It is Europe's best dementia clinical trial focus, and a dynamic accomplice in Dementias Platform UK, an expansive scale scholastic/industry joint effort set up by the Medical Research Council. It has distributed 33 clinical trial papers since 2010 and selected more than 35,000 members, and in addition directing broad work in disclosure science.

The points and targets to a great extent reflect those of the NIHR Maudsley Health Biomedical Research Center (BRC) profiting from shared foundation and working cooperatively over the accompanying regions:

Expanding on the bioinformatics topic in which we gather and break down organic information, for example, DNA and protein arrangements and structures. This expands the comprehension of the pathology of various dementias and the distinguishing proof of sickness particular biomarkers.

Utilizing biomarkers for precise and early determination, to create improved clinical trials, and for customized and propelled prescriptions.

Creating inventive medications including pharmacological, organic and mental treatments for the treatment of individuals with dementia.

Leading first-in-man clinical trials of medications rising up out of our examination program.

Disease specific research areas

These programmes investigate prospects for developing pathology specific biomarkers as well as targeted therapeutic approaches in individual disease categories including:

Alzheimer’s disease
Vascular dementia
Synuclein dementias including dementia with Lewy bodies
Frontotemporal dementia with motor neuron disease

Cross-cutting research areas

These areas provide the infrastructure to drive translational research in the disease specific research programmes and include:

Biological markers and clinical informatics
Dementia in diverse populations
Experimental medicine and clinical trials
Care Home Research Network
