The survey was done jointly by Edu, an Indian company and Rand Corporation, a non-profit American thinktank

NIT Patna is ranked 87 in National Institutional Ranking Framework published by Ministry of Human Resource Development in April 2016

It is an autonomous institute functions directly under Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Vellore Institute of Technology VIT

Vellore Institute of Technology VIT has been ranked No. 1 private university and 13th overall best university ahead of many IITs and NITs in India, by National Institutional Ranking Framework in April 2016.
