National Institute Of Technology, Silchar is one of the 30 National Institutes of Technology of India and was set up in 1967 as a Regional Engineering College in Assam. In 2002 it was moved up to the status of National Institute of Technology and was proclaimed as Institute of National Importance under the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007.

Targets

To grant the best specialized instruction at both the Under Graduate and the Post Graduate level, to prepare the understudies to have the capacity to intensely confront a world that is being changed by logical and mechanical advances
