Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission UPSC for the candidates applying for Civil Services Examination and Indian Forest Service Examination

The notification of Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam 2016 was released on 27 April, 2016.

The exam will conduct on 7 August, 2016

CSE 2016 Important Dates

Date of Notification: 27 April, 2016

Last Date to Apply: 27 May, 2016

Exam Date: 7 August, 2016

Civil Services Mains: 3 December, 2016

CSE exam eligibility-

Degree of a Recognised University or equivalent

Candidates appearing in the requisite Degree qualification are also eligible to apply

Age - limits:

21-30 years as on 1st August of the year of Examination.

CSAT (Prelims) Pattern

The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of Objective type (multiple choice questions)

The exam carry maximum of 400 marks.

This exam is only a screening test

The marks obtained in the prelims are only for qualifying for main exam and are not counted for determining final order of merit.

In General Studies Paper - II, minimum qualifying marks is 33%.
