Don’t worry buddy I will get some details about BSC Nursing courses conducted by Armed Forces Medical College which open your doors to join Indian Navy. Admission Procedure: The course commences in the month of Aug. Advertisements for recruitment appear in the leading news papers of the country in the month of Oct/ Dec every year, both for B Sc & GNM courses. Candidates are required to submit their application forms in the prescribed format, along with other necessary documents mentioned therein. Eligibility: The candidate must be an Indian National (age- 17 to 25 yrs) Educational Qualification: 10+2 with three years Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery with minimum two years experience in the profession. Male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme must submit a Certificate of completion of a course of 6- 9 months duration approved by INC in lieu of midwifery The candidate should have not less than 50% aggregate marks in all subjects. The candidate should have passed the examination in single attempt. (OR) 10 class (Matriculation or its equivalent with three years Diploma in General. Nursing Midwifery with a minimum of five years experience in the profession. Selection procedure A written objective type of examination will be conducted in February/ March every year, at certain selected centres (Published from time to time.) Successful candidates will be called for an interview at selected centres in the month of April/May each year. Candidates must be declared medically fit. The fitness will be determined by a Medical Board of Military Medical Officers. Merit listed candidates based on the interview and medical fitness will be called for B. Sc. (Nsg). Selected candidates will be required to execute a bond of agreement to serve in the Military Nursing Service for a minimum period of 5 yrs as permanent commissioned officers, on successful completion of the course. Facilities Accommodation and Food: The students are provided with free accommodation, free laundry services and free food - a well balanced diet as per prescribed scales. Medical Facilities: Students are provided with free medical services. Leave and Travel Facilities: Students are granted 30 days vacation leave and 10 days mid term break. Stipend and Uniform Allowance: A stipend of Rs.250/- per month is given during the four years of training. A initial outfit allowance of Rs 400/- is given on joining the course and a outfit renewal allowance of Rs 150 per year during the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year of the course.
