the details of the Msc Degree of the Tata Institute of the Fundamental Research is given below


About the MSc Degree Program : This is a 3-year program. Students start in July each year, and join labs to which they have been assigned in their offer letter. These assignments are strongly based on their preferences ascertained during the interview process

Credit Requirements :

Credit requirements for registration
M.Sc. - 12 credits

Basic and advanced courses run during August and February semesters, respectively. Students have to register for courses at the DBS office.

Advanced Course in Cell Biology (DBS 2006)
Advanced Course on Motor Proteins and Intra-cellular Transport (DBS 2007)
Analyzing Numbers in Biology (DBS 3001)
Computational Biology (STCS)
Optical Spectroscopy (DCS)

All basic courses are mandatory and students are advised not to take any outside DBS/TIFR courses during the first semester.
