Re: Phi MU University of Georgia

The Philomathean Society, later to end up the Phi Mu club, was initially established by Mary Ann Dupont, Mary Elizabeth Myrick, and Martha Bibb Hardaway at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia in 1852 as the second most established female friendly association built up in the United States. Thirteen years after the Philomathean Society was framed in Macon, the University of Georgia's first clique, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, was built up. It would take another sixty or more years for the college even permit ladies to enlist.

The Alpha section of Phi Mu was the main sorority at UGA and was established on April 28, 1921 with just ten individuals. Before long, Phi Mu bloomed into one of the biggest sororities on grounds! There are right now 285 individuals from Alpha.

Campus Involvement

Outside of Phi Mu's dynamic inclusion in our section's altruism, our individuals are included in various associations. Every part has diverse interests, so as a section, we urge our individuals to take part in different associations in the Athens people group. With this, we gain from each other and value our similitudes and contrasts.
