Re: Physics Department University of Calicut
Department of Physics is a chief unadulterated and connected science office built up in 1971 with Prof. J.C. Palathingal as the Head of the Department. As far back as its foundation, the Department has assumed a key part in reinforcing postgraduate instructing and research in material science through dynamic contact and cooperation with a few research establishments and colleges in India and abroad and different universities in the contry. The office is a main focuses. The office is a main focus in the accompanying fields of research : Nuclear Physics, Condenced Matter Physics, Material Sceince, Astrophysics, Radiation Physics, Theoretical Physics, Pasma Physics, Non-convensional Energy Source and Nanoscience. The division focusses on conferring preparing in front line inquire about in the above fileds and instills scientifc demeanor and spirt of social advance through logical improvement. Madhava Observatory, in memory of old incredible mathematician and space expert, has been set up for the improvement of observational Astronomy. Incorporated Liquid Nitrogen Plant bolsters different test facilites in the division and other science offices in the University. Aside from the normal educating and research exercises, the depatment is activey required in spreading the soul and result of improvements in science and innovation accomplished through material science to people in general through extenstion, preparing, workshops and other effort programs.
