The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the
Indian Military Academy,
Officers Training Academy,
Indian Naval Academy and
Indian Air Force Academy

Educational qualification:
For Indian Military Academy:
Candidates should possess a degree from a recognised university.

For Indian Naval Academy:
Candidates should have acquired a degree in engineering from a recognised university.

For Air Force Academy:
Candidates should possess a Bachelors degree in Engineering. Candidates are required to have subjects such as Physics and Maths in class 12.

For Officers Training Academy:
Candidates should possess a degree from a recognised university.

Age Limit
Indian Military Academy 19-24 years
Air Force Academy 19-24 years
Naval Academy 19-24 years
Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 years

UPSC Selection Procedure consists of three stages
1. Written Exam

2. Interview/ Intelligence Test/ Personality Test

3. Document Verification

4. Medical Examination
