Detailed information about the syllabus of Postal Assistant Exam is given below .
Paper I:
Paper 1 is compulsory for each and every candidates who have applied for India Post Office Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant Exam.

General Awareness/ Knowledge: Candidates are required to focus on Current Affairs (last 6 months updates on appointments, deaths, awards, summits etc), History, Indian Polity and General Science.

Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events

The test will also include questions relating to India and its neighbouring countries especially pertaining to Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research etc.

General Intelligence/ Reasoning: There will basis reasoning in the question paper that includes questions on analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem solving, analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series etc.

The paper will be also consisting of symbols and their relationship, arithmetical computation and other analytical functions. We strongly recommended candidates to solve previous year question paper for complete details about Reasoning & Mental Ability section.

Mathematics: There will be 10th (Matriculation) standard questions in this section. Candidates should cover basic maths starting with simplifications, approximations, ratios and proportions, simple and compound interests, percentages, averages, profit loss, time and distance, time and work, speed and distance, Mensuration etc.

English Grammar & Comprehension: English Language paper will be consist of its vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms and its correct usage, etc. We strongly advised to go through the English Grammar completely

Paper II:Paper 2 is a computer based skill test to test candidates’ knowledge of computer. Aspirants qualified in the written examination is only eligible to appear for this test and only qualified candidates are called for Computer / Typing Test.

Computer / Typing Test: The skill test will be of 30 minutes. This test consists of two parts. Those are Typing Test (15 minutes) and Data Entry (15 minutes).
Candidates must have ability to type 30 words per minute (in English) and 25 words per minute (in Hindi).
