As you want to prepare for the TNPSC Group 1 exam How to prepare for TNPSC Group 1 exam TNPSC conducts group 1 exam every year to employ deputy collector, deputy manager of police, assistant commissioner of police and assistant director cadre. Its syllabus is of degree standard. As its syllabus is pretty large, Proper approach is needed to crack this exam. Group 1 has three stages of exam: Preliminary exam, Main exam and interview. Nature of questions asked in Group 1 Preliminary exam is considerably changed. Here are some tips :- 1. Stick to the syllabus 2. Follow news regularly 3. Practice more aptitude questions 4. Work hard. don’t enclose yourself to important topics. 5. Take mocks test-success is about correcting the mistake 6. Refer previous year questions Here are few Suggested Books 1. 6th to 12th TN and NCERT books 2.Quantitative aptitude by R.S.Agarwal and A modern approach to non verbal reasoning by R.S.Agarwal 3.Indian Polity by Lakshimikant 4.Indian economy by Ramesh Singh(Just study core concepts.No need of deep study) 5.India a history: John Keay 6.Indian and world geography: Majjid Yussain 7.General Science: 6th to 12th NCERT and TN books Note: I will update the strategy,syllabus and books for mains and interview soon.
