As of 17th June 2016, Tracy Fitzsimmons, Ph.D., got to be Shenandoah University's sixteenth president on July 1, 2008. She is the establishment's first female president since its establishing in 1875 and one of the most youthful college presidents in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She came to Shenandoah in 2001, as dignitary of the College of Arts and Sciences, got to be VP for Academic Affairs in 2002 and was named senior VP in 2006. She holds a personnel arrangement as educator of Political Science. Beforehand, Dr. Fitzsimmons was a tenured employee and staff pioneer at the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif.

As president of Shenandoah University, she drives a foundation of 3,700 understudies, 250 full-time workforce and 475 staff at its 129-section of land site in Winchester, Va., and a satellite grounds in Leesburg and Ashburn, Va.
