Re: Procedure to become a CA after 12th commerce

Chartered Accountancy is an admirable stream that a 12th passed out commerce student can opt for. The CA course has following three stages:

Foundation course
Intermediate
Final CA course

To become a Chartered Accountant you should register with the Board of Studies at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT). Candidates can enroll for CPT after passing the class 10 exam itself.

On successful completion of the 12th exam and the CPT, students are eligible to register for the Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC). This program covers areas like office procedure, personality development, communication skills, general commercial knowledge, business environment etc.

Then candidates are required to appear for the Group I and/or Group II examinations, this is intermediate examination.

After passing both the groups and Group I alone of Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE), candidates can register as Articled Assistant for a three year period.
