If you want to make a career in, you need to be aware of some facts. The recruitment procedure in police happens at four levels which includes --
Constables,
Sub Inspector,
Deputy Superintendent of police and
Indian police service

Well to become Police Inspector, you need to pass the Indian Police Service (IPS) exam. This exam is two rounds such as written and interview tests are organized by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Eligibility Criteria for IPS Exam:

Age limit-

Minimum
21 years minimum

Maximum
30 years maximum for General
33 for OBCs
35 for SCs/STs

Number of Attempts

Four attempts for general,
Seven for OBCs
No limit for SCs/STs.

Education:
You must possess a graduate degree in any discipline of any of the Universities in India or other educational institutions
