PTET Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test

Hi buddy I want to appear in PTET Punjab Teacher Eligibility Test So tell me eligibility criteria and syllabus of this exam ??

Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) conducted by Department of School Education, Government of Punjab

Eligibility
Applicant should be at least Senior Secondary or any other equivalent exam passed with at least 50% marks along with 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education or in final year of 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education or 2 years Diploma in Education (Special Education) or in final year of two years Diploma in Elementary Education along with Graduation.

Exam pattern

The exam shall be having two papers constituting of multiple choice based questions on the following main topics:

I. Paper 1(For Classes 1-5):

1) Child Development and Pedagogy

2) Language I

3) Language II

4) Mathematics and

5) Environmental Studies

Total No. of Questions: 150

II.Paper 2 (For Classes 6 to 12):

1) Child Development and Pedagogy

2) Language I

3) Language II

Optional Papers:

4) Mathematics and Science for Mathematics and Science Teachers

Marking Scheme:

Each section of paper carries 30 marks.

Paper I (for classes I to V) Primary Stage

Reading unseen passages- two passages one prose or drama and one poem with questions on
comprehension, inference, grammar and verbal ability (Prose passage may be literary, scientific,
narrative or discursive)
b) Pedagogy of Language Development: 15 Questions
• Learning and acquisition
• Principles of language Teaching
• Role of listening and speaking; function of language and how children use it as a tool
• Critical perspective on the role of grammar in learning a language for communicating ideas verbally
and in written form
