Savitribai Phule Pune University, formerly the University of Pune, is a university in Pune in western India, founded in 1948.

The University of Pune offers research programs in different subjects and interdisciplinary areas leading to degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

Eligibility Criteria:-

For admission to the Ph.D. programme in a related subject in the faculty candidates possessing the following qualification are eligible:

a) Person having a post Graduate Degree(Master Degree) Examination with at least 50% marks or equivalent Grade Point Average(GPA).

b) Persons having passed Post-Graduate Degree (Master Degree) Examination Law Faculty with at least 55%.

c) 5% relaxation for reserve category students of Maharashtra State only.

Pune University Ph.D Entrance Test 2016 Pattern:-

Paper-I consists of 3 Parts

a) Logical Reasoning.
b) Numerical Ability.
c) Reasoning and Language Aptitude.

Total Marks: 100

Total Questions: 100

All questions with multiple choices, each correct answer carries 1 Mark. No negative marking system.

Duration & Timing of Entrance Exam: 2 Hours (11.00 AM to 1.00 PM).


Standard of passing for Paper-I:

Category - Minimum marks required

a)General:- 50% marks
b) Reserved: 45% marks

Candidates qualified in Paper–I are eligible to appear for Paper -II only.

Paper-II : (Subject Specific Test)

Date of Examination: Date will be declared by concerned University Departments

Paper- II consists of two Parts

Multiple Choice Questions: 20 Marks
Theoretical / Descriptive Questions: 80 Marks

Total: 100 Marks

Category - Minimum marks required

General: 50% marks
Reserved: 45% marks.
