Re: Punjab Civil Services Exam Notification

Punjab Civil Services Exam PCS Exam is a combined competitive examination conducted by the Punjab Public Service Commission for recruitment for various posts.

PCS Exam Eligibility

Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized university

The candidates must have passed punjabi of matric or its equivalent standard

Age:

Candidate should not be less than 21 years and more than 38 years of age

The upper age limit for a Punjab Government / Other State Government/ Central Government employees will be relaxed up to 47 years.

The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable up to a maximum of five years for Schedules Castes and Scheduled Tribes of all States and Backward Classes of Punjab.

The upper age limit for widows, divorcees and certain other categories of women of Punjab will be relaxable up to 40 years.

Age relaxation in upper age limit is up to 10 years for the disabled persons of Punjab.

Nationality

The candidate should be a:

Citizen of India; or
Citizen of Nepal; or
Subject of Bhutan; or
Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the Ist January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda and United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganike and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India;
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (2), (3), (4) and (5) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of Punjab in the Department of Home Affairs and Justice.

Pattern of PCS Mains Exam


The main examination will consist of written examination and an interview test.

The written examination will consist of 9 papers of conventional essay type in the subjects as given below:

VII General Studies Paper -IV (Science and Technology, Enviornment, Problem Solving and Decision Making) 250
VIII Interview 150
Grand Total 1500
