Punjab Gramin Bank Local Language
Can you tell me if it is compulsory to have knowledge of local language for Office Assistant (Multipurpose) Post in Punjab Gramin Bank?

Punjab Gramin Bank invites applications from Indian citizens, for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose) who has appeared at the Common Written Examination for RRBs conducted by IBPS. Requirement Educational Qualifications Bachelor Degree or its equivalent of a recognized University in any discipline; Essential: Proficiency in Local Language i.e. Punjabi and must have passed “Punjabi” as one of the subjects at Matriculation/10th Standard. Desirable: Knowledge of Computer skills Nationality/ Citizenship: (a) One must be either i) a Citizen of India or ii) a subject of Nepal or iii) subject of Bhutan or iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that one belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above is a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. One in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Group Discussion/ Interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection the offer of appointment may be given only after the Government of India has issued the necessary eligibility certificate to him/her. (b) One must be willing to work in the operational area of the Bank and have knowledge of local language i.e. Punjabi. Age Between 18 years and 28 years There is age relaxation as per rules from 3 to 10 years for reserved category. |
