Panjab University is a public Autonomous university located in Chandigarh, India.

About the PU

It was established in 1882 making it one of the oldest universities in India.

Panjab University is ranked among the top institutions of higher education in India and in Asia

The university has 75 teaching and research departments and 15 centres for teaching and research at the main campus located at Chandigarh.

It has 10 affiliated colleges spread over the states of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and U.T. of Chandigarh, with Regional Centres at Muktsar, Ludhiana and Hoshiarpur cities in Punjab state

The campus is residential; spread over 550 acres (2.2 km2) in sectors 14 and 25 of the city of Chandigarh.

The main administrative and academic buildings are located in sector 14, beside a health centre, a sports complex, hostels and residential housing

IITs

The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are autonomous public institutes of higher education, located in India.

The IITs have a common admission process for undergraduate admissions, called IIT-JEE.

The most famous IITs are IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kanpur.

They all have good placement record.

They have also come in Asia’s top 250 colleges.
