Hello sir I want to take to take admission in Punjabi University for B.Ed so will you please tell me what is the eligibility Criteria for this program??

Hey, Punjabi University, Patiala offers admission to Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Two Year Course through Distance Education

Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must have passed:

(a) BA (Full subjects)/B.Sc/B.Com/or its equivalent examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates); OR

(b) MA/M.Sc/M.Com/M.Sc (Hons School) with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates); OR

(c) Diploma in Rural Service (3 years course) from National Council for Rural Higher Education, Ministry of Education with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates); OR

(d) BA Degree of a recognised University through M.I.L capacity with two elective subjects and English and having secured at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of SC/ST/Physically Handicapped candidates (excluding economically backward classes)

Those who have passed BA in M.I.L capacity with English only are not eligible for B.Ed Entrance Test


Reservation of Seats

Reservation of seats for various categories shall be strictly in accordance with the policy of the State Government as adopted by the University



Selection Procedure

i) The admission to the Course shall be based on merit earned by the candidates in the Entrance Test. The qualifying marks shall be as under:

General Category - 35%

Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 30%

ii) Merit List of the candidates who qualify the entrance test in the requisite pass percentage shall be drawn separately for trained and untrained category

iii) When two or more candidates have secured equal marks in the Entrance Examination, their inter-se merit for admission will be decided on the following criteria in the order of preference:

a) Candidate with higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination

b) Candidate older in age

Total Marks: 200; Time - 2½ hours;

General Awareness - 50

Mental Ability - 50

Technical Potential - 50

Punjabi or Hindi - 25

English - 25
