Firstly I would like to inform you that Rajiv Gandhi University is situate in Arnachal Pradesh and not in Sikkim.

Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) prior known as Arunachal University, built up in 1984, is the most established college in the Indian condition of Arunachal Pradesh. The establishment stone for the college was laid by the then Prime Minister of India Late Smt. Indira Gandhi.

Prior to the beginning of Rajiv Gandhi University, schools of Arunachal Pradesh were partnered to North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. At present, 32 Colleges in Arunachal Pradesh are partnered to Rajiv Gandhi University.

The college has been stretching out instructive offices to the understudies from the neighboring states especially Assam.

Status

Rajiv Gandhi University has been a Central University under the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India since 9 April 2007. Rajiv Gandhi University, in the past known as Arunachal University, was built up by the state administration of Arunachal Pradesh, in 1984. In 2005 the same has been renamed as Rajiv Gandhi University.
