Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha is located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh not in Hyderabad Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha was established under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 It is a premier institution in the field of higher learning in Sanskrit studies, Trditional Sastras and Pedagogy. Undergraduate Courses- 1. PRAK-SASTRI (Eq. to +2/INTERMEDIATE) Duration: Two years; Age :15 to 18 years No. of Seats: 60 in all the Sastras Eligibility : Candidate must pass in one of the following examinations with minimum five or six papers. a. S.S.C/CBSE/NOS course with or without Sanskrit and pass in ABHIJNA of Samskrita Bhashapracharini Sabha, Chittoor. b. Purva Madhyama of 1 Rashtriya Sanskrit Samsthan, New Delhi, 2. Sampoornananda SanskritUniversity, Varanasi c. Sanskrit Entrance Examination conducted by the Govt. of A.P with English d. Any examination recognized as equivalent to X calss with Sanskrit. e. Candidates possession S.S.C without Sanskrit are also eligible to join the course subject to the conditions of passing the entrance test in Sanskrit conducted by the University Scheme of Study : Part - 1 : 1st Language : English 2nd Language : Sanskrit/Telugu/Hindi Part - 2 Paper-1 : Sanskrit (Compulsory) Optional Sastra of Sahitya/ Vyakarana / Darsana /Jyotisha will be taught as part of second year syllabus. Uttara Madhyama of 1. Sampoornananda Sanskrit University, Varanasi, 2. Rashtriya SanskritSanskrit, New Delhi. b. Prak-Sastri of 1. Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati, 2. Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, NewDelhi c. Madhyama of Kasi Hindu Viswavidyalaya, Varanasi d. Varishtopadhyaya of Rajasthan Board of Intermediate Education, Ajmer. e. Upasastri of 1. Sree Jagannatha Sanskrit University, Puri, 2. Kameshwar Singh Sanskrit University,Darbhanga f. Sahitya of Karnataka State. g. 1. Intermediate or equivalent examination with Sanskrit or Vichakshana of Samskrita Bhasha Pracharini Sabha, Chittoor of +2 Stage in 10+2+3 Pattern conducted by a recognized board. 2. Equivalent course without Sanskrit at plus 2 stage but studied Sanskrit at school level (10th class) subject to the passing of the entrance test conducted by the Vidyapeetha. SASTRI Vedabhashya (Eq. to B.A.) No. of Seats: 15 Duration: Three years (6 Semesters) ; Age :17 years (as on 1st June) Eligibility : Samhita (Rigveda or Yajurveda) and have some knowledge of Sanskrit are eligible, subject to the passing of entrance test conducted by the Vidyapeetha in Samhita of respective Veda and Sanskrit. Scheme of Study : Part 1- English & Sanskrit :2 Papers in each year Paper 2 - 4 papers in each year consisting of Sahitya, Vyakarana and Veda bhashyam 4. B.A. No. of Seats : 20 Duration : Three years (6 Semesters) ; Age :17 years (as on 1st June) Scheme of Study : Part - 1 : (a) 1st Language : English (b) 2nd Language : Sanskrit/Telugu/Hindi (c) History of Vedic & Classical Sanskrit Literature. Part - 2 : 1st Elective : Sanskrit (Compulsory) 2nd and 3rd Electives : any two from the following but not more than one from each group Group A : 1. English Literature 2. Telugu Literature, 3.
