Re: RTET Certificate

Rajasthan Teachers Eligibility Test (RTET) is the state-level entrance examination being conducted for qualification to become a Level I (Primary - Class 1 to 5) and Level II (Upper Primary - Class 6 to 8) teacher.


The validity Period of RTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from date of declaration of its result for all categories


Eligibility criteria:


- Qualification teachers of classes I-V (Paper I):

Candidates should have passed in seniors secondary with at least 45 percent marks. Those appearing in final 2 year diploma in bachelor of elementary education are also eligible.

Candidates with B.A. /B.Sc with at least 50 percent marks and B.Ed. qualification can also apply.

- Qualification teachers of classes VI-VIII (paper II):

Applicants having B.A/B.Sc. and those appearing in final 2 year D.Ed /B.A./B.sc. with at least 45 percent marks and passed in B.Ed./seniors secondary with at least 50 percent marks and passed or appearing in final year 4 year bachelor in elementary education B.A/B.Sc./B.Ed. with 50 percent in B.A. or B.sc are eligible for RTET.


Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Paper I – For Class 1 to 5

Duration: 2 & 1/2 hour

Number of questions: 150

Question Paper Pattern

-CD (Child development), PD (pedagogy) contains 30 questions with each carrying 1 mark.
-Language-1 consist 30 questions, each carries 1 mark.
-Language-2 consists 30 questions, each carries 1 mark.
-Mathematics contains 30 questions, each carries 1 mark.
-Environmental Education contains 30 questions with 1 mark each.


Paper II – For Class 6 to 8

Duration: 2 & 1/2 hour

Number of questions: 150

Question Paper Pattern

-Child Development and pedagogy consists 30 questions with 1 mark each.
-Language-1 consists 30 questions with 1 mark each.
-Language-2 consists 30 questions with 1 mark each.
-One can choose according to the subjects he/she applying. Each papaer have 60 questions with 1 mark each.
(a) Maths & Science (For Math and Science Teacher)
(b) Social Science (For Social Science Teacher)
For any other teacher: either (a) or (b)
