Eligibility

Candidates must Be a US citizen

Candidates must Have a valid New Jersey Drivers License

Candidates must Have a high school or vocational school education, or equivalent. Applicants with a college degree or NJ PTC certification are preferred

Candidates must Have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Candidates must Be physically fit and satisfactorily complete an interview with the Police Review

Candidates must Board, a pre-employment medical examination, which includes drug screening, and consultation with a psychologist

Candidates must be Satisfactorily complete PTC certification

Candidates must Pass a background check and be approved for police commissioning by the New Jersey State Police. Applicants must have no criminal convictions

Candidates must be Successfully complete a 12 week field training program
