Surguja University Ambikapur or Sarguja Vishwavidyalaya (hindi term for college) is a state college. Surguja University, Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh has been set up by Act (adhiniyam) No. 18 of 2008 by the state assembly of Chattisgarh. Surguja University Chhattisgarh, began working from second, September 2008.

Earlier a college campus was begun with the consent of State Higher Education Department by the Guru Ghasidas University Bilaspur with 2 recognition courses i.e. Confirmation in Pharmacy and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application in the year 2005.
