Firstly I would like to inform you that School of Planning and Architecture is situated in Delhi and not Ahmedabad.

The School of Planning and Architecture had an unobtrusive start in 1941 as a Department of Architecture of Delhi Polytechnic. It was later partnered to the University of Delhi and coordinated with the School of Town and Country Planning which was built up in 1955 by the Government of India to give offices to rustic, urban and provincial arranging. On coordination, the School was renamed as School of Planning and Architecture in 1959.

Perceiving the specific way of the fields in which the School had achieved greatness, in 1979, the Government of India, through the then Ministry of Education and Culture, gave on the School of Planning and Architecture the status of "Esteemed to be a University". With this new status, the School had expanded its perspective by presenting new scholarly and augmentation programs and advancing examination and consultancy exercises. It was perceived as "An Institute of National Importance under an Act of Parliament" in 2015.

The School is a particular University, just a single of its sorts, which solely gives preparing at different levels, in various parts of human living space and condition. The School has taken lead in presenting scholarly projects in particular fields both at Bachelor's and Master's level, some of which are even today not accessible somewhere else in India.

Departments of Studies initially

School offers arranging, engineering and configuration courses both at undergrad and postgraduate levels. While the Bachelor of Architecture course is one of the most established in the nation, very fruitful Bachelor of Planning course was begun in 1989. Also, the School offers 10 postgraduate projects and 2 undergrad programs alongside the doctoral projects keep running by every one of the bureaus of studies.
